The Pet Blood Bank UK (PBBuk) is celebrating its first anniversary this month, according to reports.
Some 600 units of blood have been collected in the first year, with 420 regular donors from across the UK now known to PBBuk, according to K9 Magazine.
Wendy Barnett, executive director of the blood bank, said she is "excited" about the progress made and what is in store in the future for PBBuk.
"We've held over 50 donor collection sessions and have seen some donors return four times so we've been getting to know them and their owners well," she added about the pet health initiative, according to the magazine.
The executive director also said that the blood bank is "looking forward" to developing its current pet health offerings.
PBBuk was established as a not-for-profit charity and is the first such service of its kind, according to the blood bank's website.
