An innovative piece of satnav technology that could be of interest to people with pet insurance has been launched at the Crufts Show this week.
The satnav dog collar has been designed to enable pet owners to track down their dogs if they ever go missing or are stolen, Retriva, the firm behind its developement has explained.
It is thought that the technology, which will not be on sale until the summer, will be of particular interest to consumers with pets who cost large sums to maintain, such as those at the Crufts Show, the Times reports.
The ongoing show is the largest of its kind in the world and sees some enormously expensive dogs in attendance, but the satnav collar cold soon be an essential item for any animal lover and pet insurance policy holder.
Explaining why the collar had been designed, Andrew Stuart, director of Retrieva, said: "Dog theft is out there but it's not high on the list of police priorities, for obvious reasons.
Meanwhile, Travelodge recently announced the introduction of a "pooch bed" for people who visit its hotels with a canine companion.
