Pampered pooches and coddled cats can now relax in style at a new pet hotel in Mexico.

News provider ITN explains that animals at the facility are free to wander round the semi-tropical garden and take a dip in their own private pool if they wish.

The hotel caters to everything from dogs and cats to birds, ferrets and rabbits and also offers a grooming parlour.

At night, the guests get their own rooms to sleep in and the facility also provides chill-out music to help them relax.

Daniela Domiguez opened the hotel three years ago and tells ITN: "I once had the need for a service such as this one and it wasn't available. So, when I had the opportunity I thought about starting this business."

She adds that the aim of the service is to keep the animals comfortable and their owners unworried about their health.

In related news, Reuters recently reported that hotel chain Travelodge supplied luxury dog and cat-sized beds for animals competing in this year's Crufts dog show that came complete with mattress, pillow and duvet.
