Pet Idol launched - pet health insurance

The Manchester Evening News has launched a competition to find the coolest cats, most dashing dogs and brilliant budgies.
Pet Idol, which is being run in conjunction with Pets at Home, allows owners to send in pictures of their animals and explain why their creature should take home the title.
Consumers are encouraged to think of a reason why their pet is remarkable - such as being particularly clever or incredibly cute - and send in their entries.
Winners of the competition will recieve vouchers to spend on products to pamper their furry, feathered, or even scaly, friends with.
Consumers eager to look after their pets could well find that they benefit from investing in a pet health insurance policy as it could help with cost of potentially expensive veterinary bills.
Meanwhile, financial services provider Tesco Pet Insurance suggested that the price of everyday veterinary treatment for animals has increased by more than 20 per cent since 2002.
