Guinea pig portraits - pet health insurance

A Scottish nurse has taken an interesting step to immortalise his pets, it has been reported.
Barry Williamson had oil paintings of his four guinea pigs commissioned to provide him with something to remember them by when they are gone.
"They were my first pets. I bought them about four years ago after developing a soft spot for my wife's guinea pigs. I know that they don't have a long life expectancy and I wanted something to remember them by," he tells the Edinburgh News.
He states that the price did not matter to him, which could be a prudent attitude to take when looking after animals as the price of veterinary fees can often be costly.
A pet insurance policy could help with such costs.
Meanwhile, Direct Line Pet Insurance stated in recent days that many owners place their animals at risk by not keeping their vaccinations up to date.
