Advice given ahead of National Pet Month - pet health insurance

National Pet Month is due to begin on April 5th and will celebrate the theme of Great British Pets.
As such, the Pet Health Council has issued advice on choosing a pet, urging consumers to pick animals which will fit into their lifestyle and daily routine.
For example, a cat may be a better choice than a dog as they can be very independent creatures that can come and go as they please through a cat flap.
However, it is not right to keep a canine cooped up in a house on its own all day, the council asserts, adding that this can lead to destructive behaviour, potential depression and boredom - all of which could result in the need for a trip to the vet and a pet insurance claim.
"Only get a dog if you enjoy regular walks or running," the organisation recommends.
Meanwhile, local resource the Wymondham and Attleborough Mercury recently announced that the significance of pets in the quality of people's lives is to be addressed in a special religious service and blessing later this month.
