Rabbits 'not just for Easter' - pet health insurance

RSPCA officers in York are hopping mad - after being inundated with unwanted rabbits in the aftermath of Easter.
Despite warnings to children and parents that rabbits are for life, not just for Easter, the RSPCA centre in Landing Lane has found its hutches full of fluffy friends in need of a good home, according to the York Press.
Easter is traditionally a favourite time for parents to buy their children rabbits, but for many the attraction wears off in a few days when they realise the responsibility that comes with care, including hutch cleaning and pet health insurance.
The Landing Lane RSPCA centre is now appealing for people who are willing to provide a loving home for an abandoned bunny to come forward.
Rabbits suffer from the common misconception that they are low-maintenance pets, when in fact they need require fresh food, water and bedding every day, as well as careful handling.
