A cat was been rescued from the roof of a bungalow in Walkden yesterday. The animal had been stuck up there for three days before the Farnworth Fire Service were able to rescue it, according to This is Lancashire. A spokesman for Farnworth Fire Station said: "The cat kept running to one side of the roof and then another. We used four ladders and fire fighter Mark Gillard managed to catch the cat and bring it down. It took us about half-an-hour." Following its three-day ordeal the cat was understandably a little shaken and hungry, but it is expected to make a full recovery. In related news, a cat was rescued from inside a garage wall over the weekend after its owners heard mice in their ceiling and so put the cat in there to get rid of them, according to the Rodney Times in New Zealand. Remi had to be rescued after she fell down a cavity and firemen were called out to extricate the poor animal. Thankfully, the cat was recovered safely, unharmed by its ordeal.
