Search on for dog models - pet health insurance

A jewellery company is searching for the UK's best looking pets to model a line of bling jewellery designed for animals.

Jewellery firm Jari is to send talent spotters to parks across the country to look for potential models, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Cats and dogs that are considered beautiful enough to model the firm's designs could be offered a four-figure sum and have their photos taken to build a portfolio.

Also, owners may want to consider some form of pet insurance, as the animals could be wearing a £10,000 diamond collarette - although the firm will provide a team of minders to protect the models.

Kim Bendzak, director of Jari, told the paper: "This is the animal equivalent of being the cover star of Vogue.

"It is about finding a pet that will turn heads and will stand apart in a crowd."

The market for pet accessories such as clothing and jewellery is growing, with retailers attributing a surge to pampered celebrity pets, according to ukpets.co.uk.
