Dog show raises money for Greek strays - pet insurance for dogs

A Salisbury dog show has raised almost £4,000 for a charity, which helps stray cats and dogs abandoned overseas.
The event, which was held in Mannington on Sunday, raised funds for the Friends of the Strays of Greece charity, according to the Salisbury Journal.
Around 800 people and 350 dogs attended the show to compete for categories such as best trick, best tail and the award for dog and owner most alike.
Celebrity Paul Martin of BBC programme Flog It! opened the show and acted as judge in several of the categories, including the dog he would most like to take home.
Lyn Purden, chairperson of the Friends of the Strays of Greece, told the paper: "I can't thank the people enough.
"It was true British grit even when the rain was pouring they were still there and some of the judges had rain running down their chins!"
The charity works in Greece to rescue and rehouse cats and dogs which have been discarded by the owners, often on rubbish dumps, and face being poisoned by locals.
