Dog receives polling card - pet insurance for dogs

Bobby, a Yorkshire terrier in Swindon, has received a polling card for the forthcoming local elections.
The card was addressed to 'Bobby Huckvale' alerting him to where he could place his vote on May 1st.
Swindon Council said the dog - whose political allegiances are unknown - was sent the card because his details were apparently on the electoral register.
'I've no idea what's gone on, but it all seems a bit daft to be honest if you ask me,' said Gavin, the dog's 29-year-old owner, who says he only included the humans occupants of the household on the electoral roll.
"We have two other dogs as well but neither have received a polling card."
However, because Bobby is under 18, he is not entitled to vote, although in dog years he is 21-years-old.
A woman in California recently registered her dog to vote in a state election. Jane Balogh put her phone bill in the dog's name then used it as identification to register him as a voter.
"I wasn't trying to do anything fraudulent. I was trying to prove that our system is flawed. So I got myself in trouble," she said.
