Caring individuals who love dogs are being urged to help out some of the older animals currently under the care of the Cheshire Dog Home, it has emerged. Pet insurance for dogs can be a particularly good investment for owners of older dogs and the care home has explained that it has seen dozens of unwanted animals handed over to them in recent months. As a result, there are some lovable older animals in need of a temporary home where they can escape the confines of kennels and enjoy the later years of the lives, reports the Warrington Guardian. The Cheshire Dog Home has suggested that fostering an elderly animal is a good way for anyone considering buying a puppy to get used to some of the responsibilities that go along with the endeavour. Last week, it emerged that the Forestry Commission is to run a competition to find the top dog in the north of England at an upcoming event at Hamsterley Forest near Bishop Auckland.
