A Hearing Dogs Fun Show has attracted dog lovers to Moses Gate County Park in Bolton.
The event was organised by the Bolton and District branch of the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity.
Amanda Wilkinson, chairman of the Bolton branch, said: "It was an amazing day. The attendance was brilliant, despite the weather. So many people came out to support us. Watch this space for next year."
Categories such as prettiest bitch, waggiest tail and best rescue attracted fifty entrants and the winner of each category then went on to compete for the best in show award. A Husky dog called Johan eventually won the competition.
There was also a demonstration by the specially trained hearing dogs at the event in which they alerted their masters to noises such as alarm clocks and fire alarms.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf people was launched in 1982 at another famous dog show Crufts.
