Dunstable dog owners who have having problems with their pets are to be given a helping hand by an animal therapist, it has been reported.
Jan Fennell, a dog listener who has won international acclaim, will visit the Befordshire town to explain to owners how they can understand their animals better, according to Dunstable Today.
Steph Drake and Rita Tims, who were trained in dog listening by Ms Fennell, organised the one-day course to help pet owners who were suffering from horrible hounds.
Ms Drake told the website that the technique can help dog problems such as "jumping up, excessive barking, aggression or not coming back when called", although it is not clear if the therapy can be claimed on pet health insurance.
Dog listening relies on the concept that the canines are pack animals like their cousin the wolf and can be communicated to using methods that wild animals use.
Jan Fennell claims that her method can make an owner become a dog's best friend and has published several books explaining her techniques.
The course will be held on May 10th at the Silsoe Conference Centre.
