Over 70 dogs and their owner have helped raise money to help their feathered friends, reports thisiswiltshire.co.uk.
A sponsored walk around Lackham Country Park was arranged to fundraise for a project which aimed to re-establish great bustard birds in the region.
Dogs such bull terriers and albino Great Danes turned out to attend the event, which was organised by animal science and management students from Lackham College.
Tamara Franklin, 32, one of the organisers, told the website: "It was a brilliant day and we couldn't have asked for more people and dogs to come along."
She also said that a college lecture from the Great Bustard Group inspired the students to arrange the day, which raised around £400 for the project.
In addition to the woodland walk, a treasure hunt and tractor rides were put on for children that attended.
According to the Great Bustard Group, the birds were once common in the UK, before being wiped out by humans.
The group hopes to reintroduce enough breeding pairs into the wild to establish a permanent population in Britain.
