Scottish animal lovers enjoyed a dog show that was held at a Morayshire country park over the last bank holiday weekend, it has been reported.
The event, held in Grant Park in Forres, drew a "good number" of pooches and their owners to enter into friendly competition, according to the Forres Gazette.
Held to raise awareness of dog fouling in the park, trials were held in categories such as best trick, walk to heel and top lookalike.
One entrant, Andrew Neil, travelled from Aberdeen to visit relatives and joined in the contest when out walking his dog.
Margaret Cowie, the Forres community warden who organised the event, told the newspaper: "[Mr Neil's] dog, six-year-old Sam, was a star and proved to be a worthy competitor as he showed the onlookers and judges how he could talk on command in the trick category and walk to heel, taking second place in both."
The organiser also revealed that she plans to arrange more pet competitions in the future.
In other Scottish dog news, a Perth woman is warning people about a 'puppy scam' on the internet, reports the Aberdeen Press & Journal.
After finding an Akita puppy for £250, the woman found that the seller was adding on extra charges, bringing the total to £968 before attempting to bill £800 for travel insurance.
