Dog saves couple from Chinese quake - Cheap pet insurance

A Worksop couple who moved to China are thanking their pet dog for saving them from the recent earthquake, it has been reported.
Linna and Philip Greening-Jackson found their dream home in the country and were intending to buy it when their Great Dane Lurpak fell ill, according to the Worksop Guardian.
The vet bills were so high that the couple decided to postpone moving house and remain in their property in the village of Dujiangyan, where the two teach English and business classes.
However, when the earthquake struck on May 12th, the house they would have bought was reduced to rubble.
Mr Greening-Jackson told the newspaper: "In the end, Lurpak saved us money as there would be nothing left of the cash we'd have spent on our new home.
"And had we been inside that house during the earthquake, he might have saved us more than just money."
It is estimated that more than 55,000 people were killed when the 7.6-magnitude earthquake hit China's Sichuan province.
Earlier this month, the Melton Times reported that Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has placed its canine search team on standby to help with the emergency.
