Ultimate guard dog for £65,000 - Insurance for dogs

A US company is offering what could be the world's ultimate guard dog, according to reports.
Titan wonderdogs, which look like a normal family pet, are highly-trained German Shepherds that are taught to detain intruders until the police can arrest them, says the Daily Telegraph.
A two-year stint at specialist German training camps sees the dogs drilled in odour detection and search and rescue techniques, as well as having their fitness and courage built up.
However, due to the extensive training and unblemished pedigree, the Schutzhunds, or protection dogs, have a £65,000 price tag - making some kind of pet health insurance almost essential.
Simon Brodie told the newspaper that he developed the concept after doing market research about home security and revealed that the Titans are already popular in Japan and the Middle East.
"While we train them to be aggressive, they will not attack and are therefore completely safe for families," he added.
"And, of course they are gorgeous looking dogs. I saw one the other day and it was so impressive seeing something so powerful in total control," Mr Brodie continued.
Yesterday, it was reported that a Californian biotech firm was offering pet owners the chance to clone their dogs - after an auction starting at $100,000 (£50,000).
