North-west dogs get beauty salon - Cheap pet insurance

Pampered pooches in Preston can now keep up with their Hollywood counterparts thanks to a new pet beauty salon, it has been reported.
Twenty-year-old Erica Horton and her mother Linda, 50, have just started a service called Pampered Pets Boutique, according to the Lancaster Evening Post.
Among the treatments offered to local dogs by the salon are manicures, nail painting and coloured highlights in their fur - although it is not known if being dyed the wrong shade is covered by pet insurance.
Ms Horton told the newspaper: "The customers can get any colour they fancy, but the most popular ones will probably be pink and black."
She also revealed that she was inspired to start the business after seeing how much celebrity canines are spoiled by owners such as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson.
Customer Holly James, who attends the salon with her Jack Russell terrier Pinker, said that although her dog is male she is planning to colour his fur pink, to match his nail polish and clothes.
Last month, the Earthtimes reported another way in which dogs to benefit from human technology, with the launch of Club Dog, a social networking website for pets.
