A Scottish animal lover has decided to ignore the trend of chihuahuas and labradoodles - by having a pet skunk, it has been reported.
Hannah Chapman, from Aberdeen, made a 300-mile journey to North Yorkshire and paid £700 to collect Ichi the skunk, according to the Aberdeen Evening Express.
The 23-year-old said that she attracts a "lot of funny looks" when she walks her unusual pet, but revealed that Ichi cannot hose a passerby down with skunk juice, as she was de-scented a year ago.
"Ichi is like a mix between a cat, dog and a toddler," Ms Chapman told the newspaper.
"I'm enjoying having her around. She's worth the effort," she continued.
According to National Geographic, the skunk can shoot its trademark spray over three metres and can cause a smell that lasts for days.
Living on a diet of the insects, plants and eggs, the cat-sized creature has a lifespan of just three years.
