The dancing dog that is the star of television programme Britain's Got Talent almost died in a poisoning incident, it has been revealed.
Gin, the border collie that will perform in tomorrow's (May 31st) grand final of the show, suffered a mystery illness two years ago, reports the Daily Mail.
Kate Nicolas, the dog's owner, found Gin collapsed at the bottom of her garden and feared that the plucky pooch could die.
After taking the dog to a vet, blood spots on her leg were noticed, possibly as a result of Gin eating a substance such as rat poison, leading the vet to give the dog injections and place her on an intravenous drip for 48 hours.
Ms Nicolas told the newspaper: "I was frightened her organs would pack up. The vet said that even if she did recover, she would never dance again, play games or perform her acrobatics. But I just wanted her to be saved."
However, the dog did recover and has since gone on to become a canine celebrity, with one fan sending her a £900 silver collar.
Gin was voted through to the grand final of Britain's Got Talent after performing a dance routine to the Scissor Sisters' song I Don't Feel Like Dancing with her owner.
