Hearing hounds help deaf - Pet insurance online quote

Hearing dogs for deaf people not only boost their companions' confidence, they provide security and companionship, according to one campaigner.
Jenny Moir from Hearing Dogs For Deaf People used the occasion of Hearing Dog Week to tell reporters about the benefits of canine carers, which her charity trains to distinguish sounds and alert owners.
"These dogs really change lives," she remarked to This is Local London.
"Of course they help people who can't hear, but they also give back confidence and independence along with security and companionship," she added.
Nurse Annette Aldridge explained that three-year-old mongrel Denzel accompanies her to work every day so she can do her job without her hearing problem impeding her.
"He lets me know if the phone's ringing, and if any of the staff need me they call him and he gets me," she said, going on to quip that her proud pooch "runs the department - he thinks everyone comes to see him".
Launched at the 1982 Crufts show, Hearing Dogs For Deaf People has placed more than 1,400 pooches with hearing-impaired people in the UK and Channel Islands.
