New dogs to tackle crime - Pet insurance

Criminals in the Peterborough area look set to be foiled by cops of the canine variety in the coming months.
According to the city's Evening Telegraph, three young German Shepherds are currently being trained to find thieves, drugs and missing people when they join the local police dog unit.
PC Ben Rainbird explained to the paper that Morse, TJ and Rookie have completed four weeks of a 13-week course which puts them through their crime-busting paces.
He pointed out that the pooches' two-legged handlers have to be "on the ball" to operate in the dog unit, as they generally work independently.
"When I started there was not a dog available for me then shortly afterwards I got Rookie," remarked the new recruit.
He went on to note that canine cops live at home with their handlers, many of whom end up adopting their crime-busting companions.
"He knows he is at home the minute we pull up the drive - once his collar is off, that's him lounging around relaxing," quipped PC Rainbird.
In related news, so-called Titan 'superdogs' are being snapped up by homeowners in Japan and the Middle East following the animals' specialist protection training in Germany.
