Cutting-edge veterinary care will come to the Midlands thanks to a new animal hospital, according to reports.
The Willows Veterinary Centre and Referral Service, a £5 million hospital for small animals, is due to open in Shirley over the summer of 2009, reveals icSolihull.co.uk.
Built on the site of the Cranmore Business Park, the pet hospital will be ten time larger than the town's current Willows Veterinary Centre and will increase the centre's staff from 44 to 100.
Peter Renwick, Willows co-owner, told the news provider: "There are exciting developments ahead in veterinary science and with the opening of the new centre we are well-placed to be at the leading edge of those developments."
The hospital will house two X-ray rooms, six operating theatres, 13 consulting rooms and intensive care facilities, while it will boast equipment such an MRI whole-body scanner and a multi-slice CT scanner.
Currently, the Willows Veterinary Centre offers a range of services to pets, including dental clinics, weight management classes and a "golden oldies" clinic.
