Pampered dog rides in style - Pet insurance

A pampered dog cruises around Felixstowe's sea-front in his own custom-made 'pet-mobile', it has been reported.

Simba, an 18-month-old lhasa apso, rides in a specially made carriage bought for him by his owner, Janet Essex, reports the Felixstowe Evening Star.

Mrs Essex, 66, saw the buggy online and thought it would be perfect for when they take longer walks on their caravan breaks in Felixstowe.

She told the newspaper: "He's quite a character and people have started to recognise him here. They see the cart before they see him of course and I think some of them envy him travelling in style."

Simba has lapped up the life of luxury and his owner says it may not stop there.

"He loves it and jumps straight in when I ask him to. There's nothing he won't do and if you wanted to dress him up he wouldn't object." Mrs Essex said.

Lhasa apso's were originally bred in Tibet as pets and guard dogs for monasteries, where they were seen as bringers of good fortune, according to the Lhasa Apso Club.
