Dog socks it to vets - Pet health insurance

A Wolverhampton woman could have wished she held some form of pet insurance for dogs when her hungry hound decided to eat a snack, it has emerged.
Julie Belton, from Bushbury, had to take her dog Storm to the vets when he started being sick for no apparent reason, reports the Wolverhampton Express and Star.
The poorly pooch worried his owner when PDSA vets thought he may have contracted the deadly parvovirus infection, before a less sinister explanation was discovered.
After an X-ray, it was revealed Storm had been eating socks and would need an operation to remove hosiery from his stomach.
Commenting on the two socks found in the dog's belly, Ms Belton told the newspaper: "We have to hide everything away from him now.
"We knew he had a habit of running around with socks but didn't know he was actually eating them."
Last week, the Glasgow Evening Times reported firemen used a vacuum cleaner and a sock to rescue a kitten who trapped down a drain.
The pet was sucked out of the hole without harm at its home in East Lothian.
