Man adopts wallaby baby - Pet health insurance

A West Midlands man has found himself with a rather unusual pet - a baby albino wallaby, it has emerged.
Stephen Rowlands, who works at the Tropical Inc animal re-homing centre in Oldbury, is looking after wallaby Millie after her mother died, reports the Daily Telegraph.
Looking more like a fashionable celebrity pet than an Australian wild animal, the marsupial is carried around in Mr Rowlands' rucksack to mimic the comfort of a natural wallaby pouch.
"I take her shopping with me and she causes a bit of a stir," he told the newspaper.
"When she pops her head out of the bag, I see people almost crashing their trolleys in surprise," Mr Rowlands continued.
He also revealed that the pet sleeps in his bedroom, although in a few months the animal will be reintroduced to the colony of wallabies at the centre.
According to National Geographic, wallaby youths will return to their mother's pouch for safety when they feel threatened, meaning Mr Rowlands could have his bouncing pet hanging around for quite a while.
