A dog has been found after spending two weeks lost on one of the country's highest mountains, it has been reported.
Gemma, a black and tan cross-bred bitch, was discovered by rescuers on Friday (June 27th) after getting lost when walking with her owners on Scafell Pike, according to grough.co.uk.
The dog was discovered as members of the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were looking for three people who went missing while carrying out a Three Peaks Challenge and will now be returned to her Leicester owners.
A spokesman for the rescue team told the website: "Her owners were delighted to know that she was alive, doubting that she could have survived this length of time alone on the Cumbrian fells."
The three missing people were also found unharmed by the rescue party.
Last week, the RSPCA warned dog owners to be careful when walking their pet near to cliff tops, after a dog was injured after a 12-metre fall.
