Dog walker rescued from beach - Pet insurance for dogs

A woman and her dog have been rescued in County Durham after becoming trapped on a beach, it has been reported.
Coastguards were scrambled in response to a 999 call made by the woman when she became cut off by the tide while walking her doberman, according to the Northern Echo.
Because the woman did not know her exact location, two RNLI inshore lifeboats from Sunderland, and a shore-based coastguard team from Seaham were to look for her and the dog.
She was eventually found below 80-foot cliffs to the south of Seaham Harbour, where she and the pet were rescued unharmed.
Clive Fallon, helmsman onboard the Sunderland lifeboat, told the newspaper: "It is important for anyone taking part in coastal activities to understand this and check the tide time's specific to the day of the activity itself."
Yesterday, the RSPCA stressed the importance of pet health insurance for people who walk their dogs in areas where they could have an accident, such as near cliffs, according to the Dorset Daily Echo.
