Pet insurance helps owners in credit crunch - Cheap pet insurance

A south Lincolnshire dog sanctuary which has ran out of space for unwanted animals has highlighted the importance of pet health insurance, it has emerged.
Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Algarkirk has 58 dogs in its centre looking for new homes with 30 more on the waiting list, reports Spalding Today.
Part of the reason for so many abandoned dogs, the centre claims, is the credit crunch tightening owner's budgets, with vet's bills often forcing people to give up their pets.
The situation has led centre supervisor Jo Hickson to tell people to consider carefully before they buy a dog, to avoid them later abandoning the animal.
"Pedigree dogs are more prone to health problems which can mean vets' bills and we also recommend that anyone taking on a dog invests in pet insurance because you never know what's around the corner," she told the newspaper.
Earlier this week, the Manchester Evening News revealed that pet insurance is covering the majority of the £6,000 it cost to give a cancer-stricken dog another two years of life.
