Brits overpay for travel insurance
Posted :19-04-2006
Paying for a single travel insurance policy rather than considering an annual policy could be costing Brits millions of pounds, according to a new survey. In fact with UK holidaymakers making over 60 million trips abroad each year, many Brits are taking single policies with tour operators to the tune of £30 million, according to More Than. As many as three quarters of all travel insurance policies sold are for single trips. On top of this, 49 per cent of all travel policies taken out by UK holidaymakers are bought from tour operators and travel agents - costing upwards of £330 million every year. Graham Hollebon, company spokesman, said: "Travel insurance can make an unfortunate situation more bearable - and a lot less stressful. Anyone planning more than two trips away each year should consider purchasing annual cover, which will save both time and money."
