Report: White cars less likely to crash
Posted :12-07-2007
Those looking for women's car insurance might be interested to hear that while vehicles now come in a host of pretty colours, white may be the best bet for avoiding a crash.
According to a new report from Monash University Accident Research Centre in Australia, researchers found a "significant relationship" between the colour of a car or van and its risk of crashing.
The study concluded that compared to white vehicles, colours which are of lower visibility are more likely to be involved in an accident; these include grey, black, blue, silver, green and red.
And while a brightly coloured car may be more tempting and easier to keep clean than its white counterpart, car insurance customers may want to keep the results of this study in mind when they next shop for a vehicle.
In addition, the colour of a car may be a question asked by car insurance and women's car insurance providers when calculating a quote.
